Dear Parent/Carer/Guardian and future students of Hummersknott Academy,
A warm welcome to your new school. We are very much looking forward to you joining us in September.
As we are all too aware, there has been much disruption this year in education. However, we are planning to welcome the Year 6 cohort for induction days in school, on the 5th & 6th July. These two days provide our students with an experience of Hummersknott: the building, lessons, organisation, as well as introducing them to key staff. In addition, we have planned welcome parents’ evenings in July and we are really look forward to meeting you all.
These arrangements are subject to the government easing social restrictions. If restrictions are not eased and we are unable to host Year 6 children in school in July, it is our intention to provide induction in September and we will contact you with details nearer the time.
We understand that the transition to secondary school is a big step for our students and we will ensure that we support you in this process.
I hope to meet you and your child/ren in July for the start of your child’s secondary school education.
6 July 2021
Letters have been posted home confirming your child’s College and Form Mentor allocation. The letter also has details of the virtual form mentor day, ParentPay login details, badges and ties and arrangements for September. The virtual form mentor day is taking place on Tuesday 13th July between 8.30am and 6pm. This is an opportunity for you to make that all important contact and to put a face to a name. Each virtual meeting will last 10 minutes with the parents evening system ending the meeting automatically after this time to allow the next parental meeting scheduled to take place.
