We are all set to welcome our Italian partner school on their return leg of the Italian Exchange! 10 Italian students and their teacher will be arriving this Friday 31 March, and the group will be staying with English host families until Friday 7 April.
During their stay, the Italians will be joining in with some English lessons and visiting Newcastle and possibly London. On Thursday the group will meet the Mayor of Darlington before cooking English specialities with Mrs Raine here at Hummersknott. On Friday 7 April we will wave them off and look forward to seeing them again in Tuscany when an English group will go back in October. If you see our visitors around the school, please chat and get to know them, and make them feel welcome!
Why not think about taking part in the Italian Exchange yourself next year? We visit Pisa, Florence and Siena! We eat pizza! We have fun – and, although it’s good to try to speak a little Italian, you don’t have to be doing lessons to join in the Exchange!
