Darlington Secondary Schools' Cricket Festival

The Darlington Secondary Schools' Cricket Festival was held on Monday, 8 May at Feethams cricket ground.

The Hummersknott girls' team won all five games that they played.  Their final game against Carmel was extremely competitive - both teams had won four games and at the final ball it was 68 runs to Carmel and 66 to Hummersknott.  Carys Burnside faced the final ball of the match and hit an amazing 6, which resulted in us winning the game 72 runs to 68.

Following this success the team will now be playing in the Girls'Chance to Compete county finals in June at Billingham Synthonia Cricket Club.

It really was a fantastic effort from all players - Jess Burnham, Layna Chang, Lana Harris, Freya Wilson, Cerys Burnside, Catherine Wilson, Ellie Tinkler, Sophie Sparrow-Woods, Niamh MacMurray, Shannon Duggan
