Jubilee Biscuit Challenge! - posted 30th May

Last week was biscuit week in Food and Nutrition. Students across all year groups improved their skills and finishing techniques with a Jubilee biscuit challenge. There were some fabulous results! Winners were awarded a Jubilee medal for their efforts. Sadly no ‘Hollywood handshake’ available but thankfully not one ‘soggy bottom’!

Y8 Netball

Y8 Netball - what a team! - posted 13th May

The Y8 netball team won their recent tournament. Wow... what a team!! The girls were absolutely amazing, they won all games out of 5 and only conceded 2 goals during the tournament. They won all their games by at least 13 goals and they were only 10 minute games. That is impressive stuff!!!

World Book Day and Literacy Celebrations - posted 11th Mar

World Book Day

On World Book Day, students at Hummersknott celebrated reading with special form time activities, creative lessons in English and reading related activities at break and lunch time. The scavenger hunt of book titles was particularly popular with staff and students alike! Staff also dressed up as book characters to embrace the World Book Day fun!

Christmas Card Competition 2021 - posted 23rd Dec

This year we had a fantastic response to the Christmas card competition, with hundreds of wonderful entries. The theme this year was UNITY and alongside this, students were asked to try to consider the connection to their College Identities and “Making a Positive Contribution”.

Afternoon tea with Mr. Keating - posted 23rd Dec

Some of our year 7 students were invited to have afternoon tea with the Principal Mr. Keating. It is a lovely opportunity for everyone to get to know each other and to find out a little bit about Mr. Keating! Every term, a different group will be invited to attend afternoon tea with him.

During the month of October. 120 KS3 students enjoyed food and drinks tasting, quizzes, music and taking selfies in the LRC as we celebrated the world biggest folk festival. Danke schön! und Prost!

French Crepes - Year 7 - posted 14th Jul

In recent French lessons, Y7 students completed a project about crepes and their importance in French culture. They learned all of the ingredients used to make a crepe and studied a recipe in French. They were then set a challenge to make their own crepe and either produce a video or a storyboard outlining how they went about it.
