Y7 County Cup Success - posted 15th Jan

The year 7 Boys team have reached the County Cup Quarter Final following an excellent result against St.Josephs from Hebburn.
The result of 2-0 was a based around a solid defence across the pitch. In the first half, St.Josephs dominated possession but were unable to create any clear chances. Hummersknott took one of their few chances in the first half created from a cross by Joe Dunn and brilliantly finished by Brandon Williams. Second half was more even for chances with Harry Harrison making a fine save from a driven shot. The game was still tense and could still have gone either way until a great break away attack by Lucas Goddard playing a wonderfully weighted through ball for Brandon to run onto and slip passed the on rushing keeper to make it 2-0.

Art Shop Support - posted 18th Jul

The Annual Creative Arts and Technology Exhibition was held on 28th June 2017 in school. This was a great opportunity to showcase and celebrate the fantastic work produced by Year 11 students in Art, Photography and Technology but to also sample some canapes prepared by our Year 10 students. The standard of work gets better each year and we are extremely proud of all that the students have achieved over the two years. Visitors to the exhibition had the opportunity to vote for a number of pieces of work and prizes were awarded to the students by Mr Ian Hughes from The Art Shop in Darlington. We would like to thank Ian Hughes for his very generous support year on year.

Italian Adventure - posted 10th Nov

On the Monday just before half-term, a small group of eight students set off from Hummersknott to visit some of the well-known sights of Tuscany, with a view to developing linguistic and artistic skills while gaining an insight into Italian culture. Our partner school in Italy is in Cascina, about 10 minutes from Pisa, and ideally situated for visiting the more famous Renaissance centres. When we arrived at Pisa in the early evening, we were immediately greeted by our very enthusiastic host families, and given a really warm welcome.
