May 2010. Anglo-French Joint Curriculum Project in Sport

We have just finished the first leg of the Anglo-French Exchange and the first part of the International Project in Sport.

We focused on the sports culture & identity of our regions.

The project involves a significant number of the pupils at each school and is carried out simultaneously in Britain and France.

The Sports Project “Citius! Altius! Fortius!" is coordinated by Mrs.Briton and Ms.Stokell, who provided very exciting water polo international competions and training of Frizbee golf.

Our students practice face-to-face communication with their french partners and gain the confidence in bilateral contact.

We encourage pupils to understand and recognise their local and regional identity.

This exchange enables pupils to acquire skills in research techniques, independent learning and group work in an international context.

We look forward to flying to France for our next phase of the exchange with College Louise Michel in Roye.

Special thanks to Mrs.Pilbeam for providing a kind hospitality to all the French teachers during their stay in Darlington.
